Dear brothers! Habemus Papam!
This announcement echoed in St. Peter's Square from the lips of all the Augustinians present when we heard the name of our brother Robert Francis Prevost OSA.
For us, this is a moment of great joy, deep emotion, and immense gratitude to God and to our brother for all he has done in saying Yes to the Lord in this immense service to our beloved Mother Church and to all of us.
May this very special moment be an opportunity for a deep renewal—for all of us, in every sense—so that we may feel united and bonded with our new Pope.
"Let us always live in communion with him" Fr. Alejandro Moral
May the Order of St. Augustine, in the present moment, be a sower of peace. May it hold an important place within the Church as a servant. A servant to all. Especially to the most needy.
The spiritual, human, and social approach of Leo XIII, a Pope very close to the Order of St. Augustine, remains as a guiding legacy for this pontificate in the inaugural greeting of Leo XIV to the People of God.
Let us remain united with him.
Let us pray for him.
Let us always live in communion with him.
A warm embrace, brothers.
May God bless you all!
Fr. Alejandro Moral Antón - General Prior of the Order of Saint Augustine
