Commissions in the Order
A Collaborative governance for a global mission
In the Order of Saint Augustine, commissions serve as essential consultative and advisory bodies that ensure the Order’s mission is carried out with professional expertise and spiritual integrity. These groups are not merely administrative committees; they are structural expressions of "shared discernment" and "co-responsibility," helping the Prior General and other major superiors navigate the complex needs of the Universal Church and contemporary society.
The Role and Purpose of Commissions
The primary role of a commission is to investigate, reflect upon, and provide recommendations on specific areas of religious life and the apostolate. Because no single leader can manage every technical or specialized aspect of a global Order, commissions provide the General Council with a broader perspective drawn from members across the entire world
