The General Councillor for Northern Europe, Fr Paul Graham OSA, has passed away

This morning we learned the sad news of the death of our dear brother Fr. Paul Graham. We reproduce the communiqué issued by the General Curia of the Order of St. Augustine. We pray and ask for prayers for his eternal rest and that he may now be in the company of the saints of our Order and of so many other brothers who shared with him the ardour of consecration and mission

At dawn on this day, "Gaudete" Sunday, the good soul of our confrere, Fr. Paul Graham, reached joy without sunset.

Fr. Paul, a religious of the Province of England-Scotland, of which he had also been Prior Provincial

for three terms, currently held the position of General Councilor of the Order since September 2019, an office in which he expressed his marked passion for coordination activities and to raise awareness on Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation issues.

This morning he was seized by a sudden illness while exercising the service of charity in the soup

kitchen of "Palazzo Migliori, in Rome, and was preparing to celebrate the Eucharist. Attempts to

revive him, carried out promptly by the doctors who rushed to the scene, have not been successful.

While we are heartbroken, we are grateful to the Lord for the charisms and gifts offered to us through dear Fr. Paul during these long years of ministry and commitment in the Church and in the Order.

We imagine him in the company of the Saints of our Order and many other confreres who shared

with him the ardor for consecration and mission.

United in suffering and gratitude to the confreres of the Province of England-Scotland, let us pray

that the Lord will grant Fr. Paul the reward of the just and continue to offer, to our Order and to each one, the benefits of his thoughtful commitment and vehement passion for Augustinian life.

Given in Rome, at the General Curia of the Order, on 11 December 2022. "Gaudete "Sunday
